Zambia is a land locked country forming an integral part of the South African safari circuit.  A Zambia safari holiday is considered by many as the rawest form of safari holiday available due to its highly under-developed tourism infrastructure (by comparison to other surrounding countries) as well as its exceptionally seasonal access to the country for safari (mainly because of high flood waters not enabling visitors in the wet season).

Due to the size and remoteness of the National Parks in Zambia, camps in Zambia tend to be small and intimate, and in pristine and wilderness destinations.  Typically Zambian safaris are more expensive than their South African counterparts due to the fact that camps are only operated for half of the year and some of them need to be de-constructed totally during the high water periods.

The main attraction in a Zambia Safari Holiday includes visiting the Kafue National Park, which is an area of 22 000 sq km and one of the largest in Africa.  Other highlights include South Lwanga National Park, as well as the Lower Zambezi River front lodges.  Wildlife and bird viewing in Zambia is sensational, but we generally advise our clients that a Zambia safari holiday is not suited to the first time safari goers.  Zambia is also heralded as the initial destination for walking safaris.
